Cancellation rules

Wild Blue is one of the worst companies that I have ever had to deal with.
I just lost someone who had this service and to cancell I had to fax a copy of the death certificate, I didnt have to do that with anything else but wild blue.

I had similar experience with WildBlue. My spouse and I had WB installed three years ago. Several months months ago my spouse passed away, I tried to have his name removed and only my name remain. I was told if my spouse's name was removed WB required a new contract with only my name. They were required to shut down my service, they needed an original death certificate (don't remember them mentioning a copy of the death certificate). They would then shut down my service and reinstall it with a new installation fee, plus I would have to sign a new two year contract. Because of my situation of having to remove my spouse's name from all (by law) utilities, auto, property, financial records, etc., I left the WB account as it was. It took weeks to contact a knowledgeable person at WB that could help. Finally, I was told the easiest and cheapest way to handle it was to leave my spouse's name on the WB account and use my name as payee. I had no trouble with any of the other companies we did business with. WB made it as difficult and costly as they could. Guess they figure if their customer is going through a devastating time that would be a good time to gouge all they can. They are dishonest about their equipment rental and will slip extra charges as many times as they can.
